Sawla-Tuna-Kalba NPP PC empowers youth with skills

The New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) parliamentary candidate for Sawla-Tuna-Kalba Constituency of the Savannah region, Ankaara Sakara, has pledged to tackle the incidence of unemployment among young men and women of the constituency through skills development projects.

According to him, the inability of the current MP to lobby for projects and policy interventions to support the development of the youth is contributing to the growing unemployment rate in the informal sector.

In his bid to change the narrative and in line with his vision for the constituency, the parliamentary candidate has begun soliciting support from benevolent individuals and organizations to improve the livelihood of the constituents.

Speaking after receiving 50 sewing machines to improve skills development in the constituency from Ing Dr. Clifford Braimah, Mr Sakara admonished the youth to take interest in skills training.

“Being able to establish your own business after undergoing training is what can move this nation forward and we must endeavor to ensure that their full potentials are achieved.”

He touted the efforts of Ing. Dr Clifford for his continuous support to the development of residents within all seven constituencies in the region.

“We have all felt your hard works and so I encourage you to do more for us,” he said.

Candidates seeking election in their constituencies have to undertake rigorous campaigns to mobilise voters in order to build their trust in democracy and the political system.

These candidates’ ability to disseminate campaign messages to the electorate in order to obtain their support, educate them on the electoral process and ensure their enthusiasm and participation in the election have largely depended on availability of funds and resources.
