NPP and NDC PCs slug it out for votes of Bortianor-Ngleshie-Amanfro residents

Incumbent Member of Parliament of the Bortianor-Ngleshie-Amanfro Constituency, Sylvester Tetteh, has said his constituents will reward him massively in the upcoming parliamentary election for his ability to bring development to the area.

In an engagement with TV3’s Community Manifesto during a visit to the constituency, the Member of Parliament and Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Authority (NYA), Sylvester Tetteh, expressed confidence in retaining his seat.

“What I have done is amazing and marvels my opponent. I have delivered and the NPP government has delivered in terms of infrastructure that have been completed and some ongoing projects.

The Constituency is Bortianor-Ngleshie-Amanfro, three big traditional areas and many other areas. Every community you go there is a handiwork of the NPP and Sylvester Tettey.” He touted.

However, the parliamentary candidate for the NDC, Felix Akwetey Okle, argues that the incumbent has been out of touch with the everyday concerns of constituents.

“I always say that saying is easier than done. You could come and tout yourself of some many things that you have done but the people are here to attest if really you have done what you claim. It is never true that my opponent has done anything meaningful for the people in this constituency.” He argued.

Both parties claim to have the best policies tailored to the needs of residents in the Bortianor-Ngleshie-Amanfro Constituency.

“For somebody to go and queue and vote for you to win and when they call you, you decide not to answer or pick their calls. Electorates are calling for change, development and a good leader to lead them and there is nobody they have settled on than me.” Felix Akwetey Okle stated.

“The NDC parliamentary candidate obviously lacks knowledge on legislation, so such a person when you vote for him, its scarier and more dangerous for the community. That is why I and the NPP government have worked so hard to keep the hope of the young people. We are the government that delivered free SHS to these people, if not many more of them would have been in their homes, but President Nana Addo has delivered them. That is why they should vote for Bawumia and I, Slyvester Tetteh to continue the good works.” The incumbent urged.

Created in 2012, the Bortianor-Ngleshie-Amanfro Constituency is noted for its diversity, with a mix of middle-class and low-income residents.

Fishing and small-scale trading are significant occupations for the inhabitants.

Youth unemployment, infrastructure development, poor road networks, and inadequate health facilities are major concerns for the electorate.

With the election just months away, the contest is expected to be fiercely competitive as both parties vie for this swing constituency. Voters in the constituency will face a clear choice between the seasoned incumbent and the rising opposition challenger.
