Nollywood actress Ini Dima-Okojie opens up on return of her fibroid 3 years after surgery
Nollywood actress Ini Dima-Okojie has disclosed the return of her fibroids which she had surgically removed in 2020.
On July 17, 2024, Ini shared an emotional video on her Instagram page which detailed her journey and the most recent changes to her health.
Ini described how her doctor had successfully removed every fibroid during her myomectomy three years ago and how she had recovered well after that.
She described her recent predicament as “disheartening” and reveal her intention to not undergo any surgery soon rather use a medical approach to shrink the fibroid.
“It’s been three years since the surgery but unfortunately, the fibroids are back which is very disheartening. It hasn’t been the easiest couple of months but I am ok.
“I have come to terms with it and definitely don’t want to do any surgery soon. This time I want to take a holistic approach in shrinking the fibroids backed by faith,” she said in the video.
Ini expressed her willingness and openness to take any health tips on how she can deal with her fibroid and promised to provide updates on her situation as time goes on.
In a kind gesture, she said she will sponsor medical screening for twenty women who are facing similar situation to show her support and empathy for them to help them understand their health status.
Her announcement has been met with an outpouring of support from fans and colleagues, who have commended her bravery and generosity.
