Ghanaian actor, Prince David Osei has endorsed Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the upcoming elections on December 7, encouraging Ghanaians to vote for growth instead of choosing the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

While acknowledging the diverse opinions about Ghana’s current economic status, he emphasized that the country is relatively stable when compared to several other African nations.

He underlined that Ghana still has a lot of potential to grow and develop, especially under Bawumia’s direction.

According to the actor, restoring former President John Mahama would be a step backward and send Ghana into complete collapse.

“I know there are many opinions about the current state of Ghana, and it’s easy to feel disheartened. But let’s take a moment to appreciate that, despite our challenges, Ghana is still in a better position compared to many other African countries. We have the potential for growth and improvement, especially with Dr. Bawumia leading us forward.

“Choosing to bring back a former president would not only be a setback but could potentially lead us down a path of disaster. We need to think critically about our choices and remember that the alternatives may only deepen the challenges we face. Let’s commit to a brighter future for Ghana with leadership that inspires progress,” David Osei tweeted on Tuesday, August 6.

However, his post was met with a barrage of criticisms as the actor has publicly declared his support for the NPP in the past.

One person tweeted: “Fortunately, overwhelming majority of Ghanaians appreciate the worst state of Ghana now under your darling Bawumia. Rooting for a candidate who questions his own logic is honestly the lowest anyone could possibly go but you clearly don’t mind.”

Another X user wrote: “Ghanaians care more about having a descent life than being better than other African countries. We are not in any competition. The NPP has got the plot twisted and they must go into opposition to go figure it out.”

Arthur Tawiah Emmanuel said: “Because of your selfish interest, we should go for someone who supervised this mess we are in today, today dollar rate is not 4 cedis anymore, petrol, diesel and other commodities but you are here saying what. Interesting.”
