I am the change Ghanaians need – Agnes Ayisha

Independent presidential aspirant Dr. Agnes Ayisha has stressed the need for a change in Ghana’s current situation.

Speaking to journalists during her outdooring event, the new entrant stated that all indications show the old system of running affairs in Ghana is not working.

“The youth have tried me, they have seen the work that I am doing, and my coming into the presidential race is their best bet. This is based on my qualities and capabilities to do my work effectively. The youth trust me since some of our leaders have failed us when we give them the mandate,” Dr. Agnes stated.

She also believes her policies will resonate with Ghanaians.

“Ghanaians are asking for change and the change they want is to try a woman which is me. So, this change I am bringing is economic freedom, I am bringing industrial revolution, I am bringing educational transformation, good healthcare, and I am bringing energy which is to substitute ECG with solar energy because Ghanaians are tired of “dumsor.” The new entrant promised.

As Ghana prepares for the December 7 general elections, a new face is attempting to change the narrative and the duopoly of the two leading political parties and NDC.

It would be recalled that the Director of Training at the Electoral Commission, Dr Serebuor Quaicoe revealed that 22 persons have so far picked nomination forms to contest as independent presidential candidates in the upcoming December 7 election.

Since 1992, two parties—the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC)—have dominated Ghana’s political landscape.

This dominance has, over the years, hindered the penetration of other parties, particularly independent candidates.

Independent presidential candidates have often been accused of being strategically sponsored by opposition parties.
