Ghanaian actor Alex Kofi Adu, popularly known as Agya Koo, has professed love for former President John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the NDC.

The multitalented Kumawood actor made this revelation during a live band performance at a funeral.

Addressing the crowd at the funeral grounds, Agya Koo also opened up about his regular contact with John Mahama.

He claimed that the NDC’s flagbearer even invited him to his residence for conversation.

“We have never had an election in Ghana before and fight. When Nana Addo is in power, I am part of the government, if Mahama also comes to power, I will be part of the government.

“You don’t like John Mahama more than I do. He even invites me to his home, and we sit in his hall to have conversations. Do you like him more than I do?” Agya stated.

His revelation follows an incident where the crowd chanted ‘Mahama’ during the actor’s performance at the same funeral grounds.

This caused him to abruptly end his singing as he was unhappy about the turn of events.

In a video shared on X, the actor is seen ending his performance to address the person who chanted Mahama’s name. Agya Koo is know to have openly declared his support to the New Patriotic Party and President Akufo-Addo.

However, his profession of love for John Mahama and disclosure of meetings with the former president seem to have occurred after the actor was spoken to and called back to perform.

The actor, who appears unenthused by the act explained that some members of the music band are key members of the opposition NDC.

“We are all Ghanaians, and we are all tolerant. We have members of the NDC in our band, but we are all working together,” he said while addressing the crowd.

He pointed out that one of the band members used to be a teacher but is now an NPP organizer, while the drummers are NDC members.

“This lady used to be a teacher in the Central Region, but now she is an organizer in the NPP. The drummers you see here are also members of the NDC, but we are all doing one work and on the same team because we are all tolerant and are all Ghanaians,” he emphasized.

He then questioned the person who chanted, saying, “Why all the noise and chants? Would elections be held today? Are we voting today?”
