I’m still recovering; it’s not compulsory to attend Claude’s funeral – KK Fosu

Legendary Ghanaian musician, KK Fosu has responded to criticisms over his absence at blogger John Claude’s funeral.

John Claude passed on in a motor accident on May 25. Musicians KK Fosu and Bless were on the same vehicle with the deceased.

The artiste together with Bless have been criticised by some bloggers for failing to attend John Claude’s funeral held on Friday, July 19 to commiserate with the family although they were all involved in the accident.

Some friends of John Claude Tamakloe, including Eric Toscar and George Britton, took to social media to call out the two musicians.

Responding to the criticisms in an interview on Hitz FM, KK Fosu clarified that he and Bless are still recovering from the accident and receiving treatment, thus it is not advisable to attend the funeral.

He refuted rumours about a personal relationship with the deceased. KK Fosu stated that he only met John Claude on that fateful day, while they were on their way to an event.

“I didn’t know about the funeral. None of the family members even called us. I’m also still recovering; Bless is also recovering so its not by force for us to go to the funeral.

“I didn’t kill Claude but its just nice that we will unite for this, but if you are annoyed with me I don’t know what will happen to me when I come there. So I won’t allow any of my team members to go,” he said on Monday, July 22.

He continued: “Claude never blocked for KK Fosu. He is not part of my team, and I don’t know him for anywhere. I got to know not more than three hours and this unfortunate incident happened.”

The accident occurred on Saturday, May 25, 2024, on the Accra-Apam Highway when KK Fosu, K Bless, Claude and others were going for a wedding.

John Claude Tamakloe was laid to rest at Tema Community 2 on July 19, 2024.
