The best legacy Akufo-Addo can leave is to ensure a peaceful, transparent and credible election – Mahama
Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Former President John Dramani Mahama has charged President Akufo-Addo ti ensure that this year’s elections are free fair, and credible.
In the view of Mr Mahama, free and fair polls will be the best legacy President Akufo-Addo can leave to the country as he is exiting office after serving two terms in office.
“The best legacy he can leave this country is to superintend over a peaceful, transparent, and credible election,” Mr Mahama said when speaking at the Gonja Land Youth Congress in Damongo where he also cut sot for the construction of a multipurpose Jakpa Palace in Damongo on Sunday April 28.
He further stated that the power to choose President Akufo-Addo’s successor in the elections does not rest with the President.
Mr Mahama stated that it is God who chooses leaders, not President Akufo-Addo.
“I wish to remind him that it is God who makes rulers and, he can never ever be the one to choose his successor, it is God who will choose the successor,” he said.
