How to apply for Ghana Ministry of Health 2024 nurses and midwives recruitment

The Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association is worried about possible trouble next week because of the upcoming nurses and midwives recruitment.

The government is hiring 15,200 new nurses and midwives, and the association’s president says this is causing a lot of tension among nurses who are already working.

The deadline for submission of application is Friday, August 23, 2024 at 6:00pm. The Ministry of Health (MOH) says on Monday, August 5, 2024, it will commence recruitment of some 15,200 nurses and midwives across the country.

According to the ministry, the recruitment comes after receiving financial clearance from the Ministry of Finance.

It urged qualified applicants to formally apply on the Ministry of Health online application portal by logging in to https://hr.moh.gov.gh and following the instructions to select the preferred Agency under the Ministry.

The Ministry wants to remind everyone that applying for these nursing and midwife jobs is completely free. Don’t give money to anyone who says they can help you get the job.

The online portal allows applicants to conveniently express interest for the post in their preferred organisation under the health sector.

This exercise aims to address the staff gaps and challenges in the health sector and health facilities across the country.

  • Who qualifies to practise nursing or midwifery in Ghana?

To qualify as a Registered General Nurse, you need a three-year nursing diploma or a four-year nursing degree from a recognized school. To become a Registered Midwife, you must complete a three-year midwifery program at an accredited institution.

  • Credit passes (A1-C6/A-D) in the following Core Subjects: English. Mathematics. Intergrated Science.
